Ignite Ann Arbor – June 30th 2009

We’re excited to announce that Ignite Ann Arbor 1 will be held June 30th, 2009 at 7pm, at The Neutral Zone in downtown Ann Arbor (310 E. Washington)!  We’d like to thank them for agreeing to host Ann Arbor’s first Ignite event.

The Neutral Zone is a diverse, youth-driven teen center dedicated to promoting personal growth through artistic expression, community leadership and the exchange of ideas.  It’s a great space, and it will be a great opportunity for more people to find out about the excellent work they do.

The event itself will consist of a short group activity to get the crowd pumped, followed by about a dozen 5-minute Ignite talks.  The event will be followed by an after-party at a local establishment TBD.

Ignite Ann Arbor 1

This is the blog for Ignite Ann Arbor, an event where a wide variety of speakers enlighten us with 20 slides in 5 minutes.  The first Ignite event in Ann Arbor is being planned for late June.  Email organizer@igniteannarbor.org if you are interested in helping out!

Five minutes, 20 slides.  What would you say? We’re on the lookout for interesting speakers.  If you are interested, add your name to this list.  Remember, this is a chance to share something fascinating or inspiring with the community.

What is Ignite?

If you had five minutes on stage what would you say? What if you only got 20 slides and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds? Around the world geeks have been putting together Ignite nights to show their answers.

Ignite was started in Seattle in 2006 by Brady Forrest and Bre Pettis.  Since then 100s of 5 minute talks have been given across the world.
